We would like to announce that our organization received emergency pandemic support funding from Indigenous Services Canada for ASHANDEWIN (Sharing of Good Food) project to assist Indigenous families living in the urban areas only. In keeping with the grant criteria, we must target those who have not received any COVID-19 support to date. The support is available to all Urban Indigenous, Inuit, Metis, families, and Elders. The food packages contain frozen meat, and fresh veggies.
In keeping with the reporting requirements for this much needed support we have developed the following process to receive the registration requests: 1) Register with Mnaasged via email to Michelle French, Data Support Helper at michelle.french@mnaasged.com 2) She will forward this on to Evelyn Young, Prevention Outreach Coordinator. 3) Mnaasged will order the bulk food. 4) Mnaasged is working with Indigenous Education and organizations to streamline drop points and maximize the food purchase. When this is not possible Mnaasged will provide a Mnaasged Gas Voucher based on the distance travelled. 5) To ensure the proper amount of food is ordered, as well as to eliminate wasting of food, Indigenous, Inuit, and Metis families and Elders will need to be on the registration list in order to receive the food support. 6) Deadline date to register will be provided on the registration form for each future order. Please note that you do not have to be receiving Mnaasged services currently or in the past to apply for this support. We look forward to your registration. Anushiik! Miigwech! Yaw^ko!
