Health & Social Services

     Our health and social services will assist our members by providing Family and Child Services, Band Representative Service, and  various health workshops, information sessions and health fairs.
​     We also can assist in finding health care services regarding: mental health support, addictions support, diabetes care, healthy living classes,  HIV/AIDS and FASD supports.

Healthy Babies, Healthy Children Program

     Our Healthy Babies, Healthy Children Program is a free program for primary parent/guardian members with children from prenatal to 6 years of age in their care who wish to register.
     Monthly participant-based activities are facilitated which involve health promotion education, milestones and development education,  a parent/child creative activity, and a peer support sharing circle. 
     Eligibility and service information are available upon request at the Caldwell Band Office through the Community Prevention Worker.

Medical Transportation Services

     Medical transportation services are available to eligible registered 165 band members in need of transportation to and from required medical appointments (within the eligible geographical catchment area).

     Once registered, please call Joe Wilson at 519-329-1764 to enquire and arrange Medical Transportation Services.

Meals on Moccasins Program

     Meals on Moccasins is a partnership between Caldwell First Nation and Meals on Wheels or VON to provide meal delivery for those unable to do it for themselves (eligibility criteria must be met to qualify).
​     ​Eligibility and service information are available upon request at the Caldwell Band Office through the Health Programs Manager. ​

Nurse Practitioner

     Medical care services are provided every Wednesday to registered clients and implemented by the Nurse Practitioner. Those unfamiliar with this role in the health care system, a Nurse Practitioner can examine patients, diagnose illnesses, provide counselling and education, write prescriptions, order lab tests / draw blood work on site, and refer to specialists when necessary. Nurse Practitioners also work with other members of the healthcare team  including traditional healers, dietitians and social workers to make sure you get the best care possible.

Foot Care

     Our foot care service is available to members who require regular foot care due to diabetes, at high risk  foot health problems. Foot care problems may include foot deformities, skin/nail problems or a medical condition affecting foot health.
     Foot care clinics are provided in 30 minute sessions and within a five-week time interval. Clients wishing to register are required to book appointment time through link below or calling event registration at 519-329-0456.
