Environment & Consultation Department

The process starts with Nations Connect

Picture

Nations Connect is a powerful consultation tool developed by Kwusen Research & Media specifically to streamline communications between Indigenous communities and outside proponents.
To begin, click the button above or follow this link to Nations Connect. Once there you’ll be able to register your project and begin the consultation process. This website centralizes communication as well as providing tools to give you the resources to ensure that you are compliant with CFN consultation protocols. Nations Connect is designed to help you identify social , environmental, and financial risks and impacts when executing projects within the traditional territory. It also allows our team to determine the consultation streams that your project will intersect with and put you in touch with the coordinators that will be working with you and allow them to evaluate the impact your project will have.

The Consultation Policy is under revisions and will be updated at a later date.

Meet the Environment & Consultation Department (ECD)

Environment & Consultation Department Manager Zack Hamm (BA, MA, P.) was born on Lake Erie’s (Aanikegamaa-gichigami) northern shore, and now lives on the Detroit River in the Waawiyatanong (Curved Shores) region. His professional and educational background is in archaeology, Canadian history, and political economy.
Melanie Thomas currently works as a Field Liaison Representative for Caldwell First Nation who serves on the Health and Safety Board and the Source Water Protection Board. She got into archaeology 4 years ago and fell in love immediately. She is also an Indigenous Liaison for the London Ontario Archaeology Society chapter and member of Turtle Guardians. In her spare time she enjoys camping and fishing with her 2 dogs. Originally from Leamington, she currently resides in St. Thomas.

Community Surveys and Feedback

At engagements, events, and community visioning sessions we ask members to fill out surveys and give us feedback.

Have you seen something we should know about? Get in touch!

We rely on our citizens to report environmental issues in the traditional territory. If you'd like to report an issue, tell us about a rare species you've spotted, or voice your concerns about an impact to the environment, please fill out the form to send a message to our Land Guardian!
